Mrs. Lynn Lehner
Hello! My name is Mrs. Lehner and I am the School Counselor for School #3. I received a Bachelor's Degree as well as a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Rowan University, and hold a NJ Director School Counseling Services endorsement. I have worked in the NJ public schools since 2007 and have 6 years of counseling experience at the Middle School level. I am excited to now serve the students and families of the Southampton School District and I am committed to both student achievement and personal well being.
The Middle School comprehensive program enhances the learning process. Counselors assist students so they can achieve optimal personal and academic growth, acquire positive social and coping skills, and solve problems and navigate obstacles so they can reach their full potential.
All students in grades 6-8 will meet with the counselor a few times a year to:
- discuss academic progress/goals
- identify any barriers to learning or social success
- identify strengths and interests
- connect students to school resources and activities/clubs
- assist students in grade 8 with high school questions/options
Services provided through the Counseling department include:
- Individual Counseling
- Small Group Counseling
- Classroom Lessons, such conflict resolution and coping/resiliency skills
- High School Information Sessions
- Crisis Intervention/Referrals
The purpose of school-based counseling is to provide skill based instruction and practice to help a child develop skills and mindsets that they need in order to succeed at school. The school counselor can provide a referral if a student requires more therapeutic services and mental health support.
