John has lived in Southampton since 2015. He moved here with his wife Maureen, daughter (10), and son (8). He was drawn to the area for its small-town atmosphere, the strong sense of community and excellent quality of education within the schools. He and his family found more than a place to live in Southampton, they found a community where they were welcomed and could grow through their involvement in a variety of activities and opportunities, giving back to the community they call home. For Maureen, it was a literal homecoming as she and John purchased her childhood home from her parents.

John has served the community as a soccer coach within the Southampton Township Recreation Association (STRA) and the Seneca United Soccer Club. For two seasons, John was the Commissioner of the entire STRA soccer program. This is an example of his desire to help in both large and small ways. Believing that education is paramount in children’s lives, John’s goal in running for Board of Education is to help maintain a standard of excellence in the Southampton Township School District.

John is highly involved in his church (Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Tabernacle). He was elected to the Congregation Council which provides general oversight of the life and activities of the congregation. He serves on the board of the Grace Place (faith-based pre-school), coordinates the assignment of lectors for worship services, and assists with minor technology needs.

Professionally, John is currently in his 17th year as a school counselor at Cherokee High School in Marlton. In addition to counseling students, he is responsible for the coordination and administration of standardized assessments for the school of over 2,100 students. John has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Villanova University, a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, and a Master of Education in School Leadership from Wilmington University.
