Special Education Parent Advisory Team

The purpose of the Southampton Township School District Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is to provide a forum so parents and community members can offer input to the district on critical issues relating to students with disabilities.

Understanding The Purpose

  • To provide direct input on the policies, programs and practices that impact services and supports for children with disabilities and their families.
  • To increase the involvement of families of children with special needs in making recommendations on special education policy.
  • To advise on matters that pertain to the education, health and safety of children with special needs.
  • To reflect on current practices and policies that relate to our special education school community.

Keeping the Focus on Input

  • Keep a policy focus: make sure the SEPAG keeps its focus on providing input on Special Education policy issues.
  • A SEPAG is a welcoming group of informed advocates for the students in our school community.

Who Should Attend SEPAG Meetings?

  • Anyone with a student or students in the Southampton school district with different learning needs; be they physical , emotional, or behavioral, is welcome to attend our meetings.
  • Anyone with a student or students eligible for or receiving services under an IEP.

What Happens at the SEPAG Meetings?

  • Presentations by teachers, related services providers and outside experts in the area of special education will be shared with the Southampton School Community.  Time will be allocated for discussion after said presentations.
  • Parents will have adequate time to present questions and concerns at every meeting.  Families will also be active participants in the review of presentations and topics that are appropriate for our school population.

We welcome you to attend our meetings!

Should you have any questions regarding SEPAG membership, please contact Maureen Walsh, Supervisor of Special Services, at the Child Study Team Office at (609) 859-2256, Extension 136.
