Welcome to Room 42
Fourth grade is a very fun and exciting year. We will be doing many great things this year. Please come back here often to see what's happening in our classroom! 


Homework this year will be to WRaP. (Wonder, Read/Respond, and Play). Students will be required to read 20 minutes and write a response in their agenda book.  Please sign that they have completed this assignment. 
Please note the following additions to the nightly WRaP homework.
  • If there is a test in a subject extra practice may come home before. 
  • If your child is struggling  with a concept they may receive extra practice.
  • If your child is not completing classwork they may bring it home to finish.

Please send a small easy to eat snack . Snacks must be simple and not require a spoon. Our lunch is later this year  students get hungry in the morning. I am not permitted to give anyone a snack. Students may not share their snack either. * Please note that there will be safety protocols in place in order for us to have snack in our classroom. Safety protocols include sanitizing hands, wearing face shields while eating, and no talking during snack.**

We will be learning and  using multiplication in almost every math chapter from now on. Students have a chart for help during class work, but will not be permitted to use that chart on tests and quizzes!

Remind App

In order to communicate with you quickly and efficiently about your student and events happening in our class and school I will be using the Remind app to text. Please download the Remind app on your phone or visit Remind.com. to join our class Carpenter's Crew 2021-2022.  Instruction letters will be sent home on the first day of school. 

Class Craft

We will be using a fun and interactive classroom management tool, ClassCraft, in our class this year. This online game style management tool is super exciting. The students and I will be learning the ins and outs of the program together. Look for a parent letter coming home soon with ways for you to see whats happening and help your students unlock things in the game!
