Welcome to Mrs. Shaughnessy's School Counseling Website!
My name is Allison Shaughnessy and I am the School Counselor at Southampton for School #2. I am committed to encouraging, supporting and empowering our students to become their best selves. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom lessons, and collaborating and working as a team with parents and staff.
Support provided can be therapeutic, but the role of a school counselor is not to diagnose or provide therapy. I am able to provide temporary/short term support to help students overcome acute issues having an impact on their school performance. At times, licensed mental health counselors are needed by families and children. Please contact Care Solace (listed below or on the school website) who will help you, free of charge, find an outside agency or licensed mental health counselor.
