Ms. Jacqueline Daddato » Author Day 2023

Author Day 2023

Students from Kindergarten up to fifth grade had a BLAST this year, studying the works of New Jersey author Beth Ferry.  We read the books, studied common themes, compared and contrasted books, and so much more.  Thanks to Mrs. Metzger and Mrs. Kenney, lots of art work was created to go along with these inspirational books!
On Friday, February 24, we welcomed Beth Ferry to our school!  There were two great and informative assemblies with the author.  The students learned about what inspires Ms. Ferry, where her love of word play came from, and how many times a book has to be edited and edited again!!!!!!  Also the students loved hearing about some of the changes that were made to some of their favorite books!  A great day was had by all!

Collaborating with Ms. Pero, Ms. Pino, and the third grade teachers, our third graders created with love their own class "Carecrow".  Inspired by Beth Ferry's The Scarecrow, the students created a new "Carecrow" for their classroom and filled it with kind messages.
